Microsoft Access to Web – Property Management

Two clients sought to modernize their Microsoft Access applications, specifically those used in hunting and fishing lodges and dude ranches. These applications handled reservations, deposit tracking, billing, and various operational aspects like gift shop purchases and wrangling schedules. However, the Access application faced challenges with multiple users, lacked integrated emailing, Mac support, and payment processing, and was susceptible to power interruptions and security issues.

To address these issues, a solution was devised to build a modern, multi-tenant, secure web application hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This new platform allows users to access data securely from anywhere, eliminating power interruptions and providing a user-friendly interface. It also supports APIs for integration with other applications, payment processing, POS functionality, integrated emailing and text messaging, automated backups, and change tracking.

Technologies used include .NET C#, Angular, MySQL, Clicksend, AWS Kinesis, AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, and Hashicorp Terraform. This solution offers enhanced functionality, security, and accessibility, providing a streamlined experience for lodge and ranch management.
